As reported in the Pioneer Magazine, our Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has completed its first net positive energy hangar. As mentioned by Minister for Defence Dr Ng Hen Eng Hensaid that the A330 Multi-role Tanker Transport Hangar is one of MINDEF’s green initiatives to combat against climate change.
Rotomatik (S) which supplied, installed and commissioned the overhead crane is privileged to be selected to be part of the sustainability drive in SAF.
Our contribution to the green drive is the usage of inverter control system which uses less energy than conventional motors. The design of the single crane is such that it is able to traverse the entire hangar which under normal circumstances would require two cranes, furthering the energy consumption reduction.
